Exhibition Design for SFMoma
Conceptualizing and designing with Raumlabor BerlinFreelancing for Raumlabor Berlin, I was assigned the conceptual design of an artist’s upcoming retrospective exhibition.
With artifacts spanning large-scale installations, sculptures, videos, photography, and books, a wide variety of settings was needed.

Two main themes led the design process: The first, the interlaced character of the artist’s work throughout the years, with numerous connections and inner references. Second,
The curator’s will to present a lot of contextual material. From sketches to documents.
The first theme was addressed by choosing a structural tubing system. Linking, supporting, dividing, and defining situations.
The second theme was addressed by a “Front/Back” concept. Playing with flat surfaces to present artifacts and the tube structure to present context.
