Exhibition Design for SFMoma
Conceptualizing and designing with Raumlabor BerlinFreelancing for Raumlabor Berlin, I was assigned to conceptualize the physical infastructure for an artisit’s upcoming retrospective exhibition.
With artifacts spanning between large scale installations, through sculptures, videos, photography and books, a vast variety of settings was needed.

2 main themes led the design process:
1 - The interlaced character of the artisit’s work throughout the years, with numerous connections and inner references.
2 - The will SFMoma’s curators to present a lot of contextual material. From sketches to documents.
The first theme was addressed by chosing a structural tubing system. Linking, supporting, dividing and defining situations.
The second theme was addressed by a “Front/Back” concept. Playing with flat surfaces to present artifacts and the tube structure to present context.
